I'm absolutely loving navy interiors at the moment. I just love how they look so sophisticated, glamorous and grown-up. Navy works so beautifully when it's the prominent shade in a space and as a paint colour is a fantastic choice to create drama and a room that instantly feels elegant.
Navy can be used across a range of different design styles and has often been associated as base colour for the more traditional or nautical looks. These days navy is key shade in interiors and looks incredible as a backdrop when used against bright pops of neon, a hot look at the moment or in complete contrast with white and neutral shades in some very slick and contemporary designs.
To create a modern scheme with navy that is bang on trend, paint out your walls with deep matt shades and mix-up the look with hot or pastel pinks or mustards, jewel tones and metallic accents. If navy walls are not for you, style your home with lush, tactile navy fabrics in your furniture choices or curtains and bring in the bling and colour pop across your art, accessories, cushions and light fittings. Alternatively, you can go all out with navy and layer up with different pieces in similar tones that will will bring an edgy vibe to your space.
